2012-06-19 12:00:00 DLZ Project Helps Restore Lake Huron Reef Habitat An environmental project designed by DLZ Michigan is making a positive impact on the environment in Lake Huron’s Thunder Bay. The project, conceived and implemented by the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ), is the construction of man-made reefs to provide additional spawning habitat for native fish species including lake trout, lake whitefish and walleye.
