Spring-Sandusky Interchange (FRA-670/315)
Columbus, Ohio
City of Columbus

This interchange is considered to be the most complex ever designed in the State of Ohio. Linking I-670, U.S. 33, and S.R. 315 with high-speed ramps, this project involved all facets of engineering design. DLZ was the lead consultant in the design of the many roadways and bridges.

Services provided by DLZ began with the preliminary development phase and included environmental studies, geotechnical studies, preliminary alignment studies, and the public involvement process.

DLZ design included the "bridge over the world," which spans several ramps and mainline roadways at various grades below the structure, a six-lane freeway, 10 bridges, a bikeway, retaining walls, pump stations, water line relocations, and a re-working of municipal electric facilities while maintaining continued service.
